Hidden away behind a thick, five-inch wall of garages, a small dog had been surviving in the shadows since Saturday night. Occasionally, the neighbours would spot him as he darted out from his hiding place to eat the food they left out. But as soon as he was done, he would retreat back into the narrow crevice, making it almost impossible to reach him.

The space he had taken refuge in was incredibly tight, making the rescue mission particularly challenging. Despite trying everything from chicken to hot dogs and even some of the smelliest dog food they could find, the little dog remained elusive. He would eat all the food placed around the trap, but he refused to step inside. Each time, he would scurry back to his safe spot in the wall, seemingly unreachable.

Determined not to give up, a kind neighbor stepped in to help. They went to the other side of the garages and gently scared the dog towards Suzette and her team. It was getting hotter by the minute, especially in that cramped space, and the urgency of the situation grew. That’s when Kassandra, one of the rescuers, climbed up on the brick wall. She carefully lowered a branch behind the dog, gently nudging him closer to Suzette.

It was a slow process, but finally, Suzette managed to slide her snappy snare through the small space and carefully loop it around the dog. 🎉🎉 This wasn’t an easy rescue by any means, but the relief was immense when the dog was finally safe.

No longer trapped in that scorching hot wall, he didn’t have to peek out in fear anymore. As they drove him to the vet, he fell fast asleep in the air-conditioned car, finally at peace. Sweet dreams, sweet boy. You don’t have to worry anymore; we’ll figure everything out.
